Bill Pate’s practice is primarily devoted to business, construction, and real estate, with an emphasis on public agency related matters.  Bill is the lead partner of the Firm’s public works practice, and a member of the Firm’s multidisciplinary public entity team.

Bill has more than ten years of extensive litigation experience, which includes a precedent setting published decision by the California Supreme Court.  His work as trial counsel includes multiple jury and bench trials, mediations, arbitrations and administrative hearings.

Bill’s construction industry expertise includes service as general counsel on large public construction programs funded by bond measures in multiple jurisdictions.   Bill provides comprehensive advice on virtually every project delivery method, and representation during the program and land planning, design and environmental phases, through contracting, claims, liens and final completion.

In addition to construction related matters, Bill has handled many other types of disputes, including business matters, property disputes, premises liability and personal injury.
