Ms. Cameron focuses her area of practice in the firm’s Municipal Law and Government Relations Group.

Before obtaining her law degree, Ms. Cameron spent more than 19 years as a policy advisory to various City of San Diego elected officials. She served on the staff of Mayor Maureen O’Connor, as director of community outreach and community affairs, and as Chief of Staff to former Councilmember Harry Mathis and to Council President Scott Peters.

Under Councilman Peters, Ms. Cameron also served as Committee Consultant to the Land Use & Housing, Strong Mayor Transition, and Rules Committees. She was the primary advisor to Council President Peters during San Diego’s transition from a City Manager to Strong Mayor/Strong Council form of government and on California Coastal Policy during Peters’ service on the California Coastal Commission from 2002 through 2005.

Throughout her career, Ms. Cameron has advised elected officials on the promulgation of regulations related to elections and ballot propositions, open meetings requirements, governmental ethics, major land code updates and project approvals, and implementation of numerous bond-financed municipal infrastructure projects.

In addition to her governmental service, she was also the Director of Public Relations for the San Diego Historical Society.
